Restoration versus Replacement

SERVPRO of Lowell was called to a property for self pay water damage. The client attempting to save money, they dragged furniture across the wet carpet, stretching carpet and damaging the pad. Once the carpet was stretched their thoughts were to remove and replace. We discussed the restoration cost versus expense of removing/replacing all of the carpet and pad. The savings were substantial as the carpet was continuous throughout the 1^st floor and stairways. The client agreed.  

We extracted and dried the carpet after removal of the majority of the damaged pad. Upon completion of the drying we rolled back the carpet, replaced pad, power stretched carpet to reinstall. The carpet was cleaned through an encapsulate process reducing the moisture commonly found during steam cleaning.
